Hi There!

Wow, this has been a busy week, I am  trying to declutter the house. I  am trying to use William Morris's Mantra, If  it is neither useful or beautiful, don't keep it. My trouble is I think everything could be useful and I know that if I get rid of it I will probably need it!

I had a flash of genius this week - a very rare occurence - I had been given a load of damsons, now, I don't know about you but I HATE destoning damsons, it is so fiddly. Well my genius thought was ....
cook the damsons whole and the pass them through a colendar, so there is still a bit of texture. It worked a treat!  I hope this comes in useful to someone else.

I am quite pleased with the end result of the wedding card for my neice. I had originally planned to use just white, but decided to add a little bit of pink. which I think looks good.

If you scroll down to the bottom of the page there is a link to my flickr page which shows all of my recent cards. I can't work out how to get the link into the main body of my blog.

Well thanks for looking, have a good week.

Me Again

At last I have found time to post one of my trial run Christmas cards.  I  used a Lili of The valley stamp for the main picture - I love their stamps, they are so cute. The message is from a Stampin' Up set called So Many Scallops, I also used the SU scallop punch.- I am a great fan of Stampin' Up!
The card looked a bit flat so I added some bling to brighten it up.

Have had a very busy week, decided it was time to sort out my craft area, fortunately I looked on Freecycle to see if anyone was getting rid of any storage units before going to buy any and lo and behold somone was and they were the very ones I wanted! - don't you love it when that happens - more money to spend on stamps, yeah!
I now have some of my stash organised, didn' realise how much stuff I had, so will now need more shelves.

Going to get started on  jam making this week, daughter brought over a large bag of damsons that she had picked as well as a bag of crab apples plus the plums are ready to be picked, but those I will cook and freeze to make pies and crumbles over the winter. I might make some plum chutney -lovely with cold meats over Christmas. Well TFL speak to you again soon.xx

Christmas cards in August,

Having a bit of time on my hands today, I decided to play around with my Christmas stamps to see what I could come up with for this years' cards.  I quite like the idea of an uncomplicated card with a simple message. I have been looking on www.splitcoaststampers.com which has literally thousands of examples of really great cards, it is always my first stop when I am seeking inspiration. I  do reccommend this site.
I shall post some of my card ideas later when I have them completed.
I have started early as I am planning to make most of my gifts this year, what with finances being so tight, gone are the days when I could nip into town and do my Christmas shop.
On a positive note I am looking forward to the challenge of providing all the family with unusual and original gifts.
Well thanks for dropping by, speak to you again soon.

Hi I'm Louise the proud owner of louloub's corner. I have given up work to look after my hubbie who is poorly. My interests are wide and varied. At the moment my main interest is card making but I also enjoy knitting, all needlecrafts, making jams and all sorts of preserves- nearly that time again. I also enjoy gardening and keeping fit - in my never ending battle to get slim, this is just as well. I will be sharing my crafty makes and any recipes that I think others would enjoy.

Here is a card that I created for a challenge - unfortunately I missed the deadline, oh well, maybe next time.
Well thank you for looking, until next time, enjoy
Louise
